If you’ve spent any time strolling down the Avenida de l’Albir, Sunrise is sure to ring a bell.<\/p>

It’s just a little way up from Banco Santander, with that always-busy terrace and a sign promising European, Indian and Nepalese cooking under one roof. I’ve lived here for almost two decades, and Sunrise is one of those places everybody has an opinion about, and it’s almost never a lukewarm one.<\/p>

You either love it or you leave swearing you won’t be back.<\/p>

That’s exactly what you’ll find in this article: not a generic restaurant listing pulled from an API, but an analysis built from hundreds of real reviews on Tripadvisor, Google, Restaurant Guru, Sluurpy and GastroRanking, cross-checked against what people say around the neighborhood.<\/p>

The Avenida de l’Albir concentrates a good part of the food and drink on offer along the coastal strip of L’Alf\u00e0s del Pi. Sunrise is no exception, and that’s precisely why it deserves a careful analysis rather than an easy headline.<\/p>

Before getting into it, it’s worth explaining why this kind of “hybrid” restaurant (European, Indian and Nepalese under one roof) isn’t unusual in tourist areas of the Costa Blanca, although it does generate more comments than a single-specialty restaurant.<\/p>

The business logic behind these broad menus usually answers a very specific need: to cater to the tastes of a very diverse foreign public (British, Scandinavian, German, Spanish) who share the same avenue and don’t always want the same thing when they sit down to eat.<\/p>

The result, when it works well, is a versatile restaurant able to satisfy almost any table; when it doesn’t work as well, it’s a restaurant that never quite defines its identity and risks not standing out in anything.
